Golf Day

On
the 29th June, The Rand Club Golf Day
was held at Riverclub and it was a roaring
success. The weather was good to us and we had a
few golfers in the usual summer shorts with
temperatures peeking at about 22°c which was
great for some good golf. |
|
The
format for the day was Better Ball Stableford,
however just to give you an idea on the standard
of golf for the day, individual medal scores
varied from 109 strokes down to 67 strokes.
Congratulations to Mike Scholz (+2) on his great
round at 4 under par. |

A
total of 56 players played on the day
and there were many prizes up for grabs.
My most sincere thanks go to KPMG,
Mutual & Federal, Leisure Brands and
Prima Industrial Holdings for their
valuable contribution in making these
prizes available. |

The top three prizes were taken as follows: 3rd Place - Ian Peters (7) & Mark Ferguson (10) with 42 points, 2nd Place – Fred Duminy (16) & Gilbert da Silva (11) with 43 points and 1st Place – Othmar Heeb (11) & Chris Hull (10) with 43 points on a count back.

The
Riverclub course was in fantastic condition,
despite it being the middle of winter and the
greens were running at 10.5. My thanks to Rob
Selley (GM at Riverclub), Johnathan and all the staff for helping make the Rand Club
Golf Day so special. |
